The WCP 2026 Best Poster Competition celebrates high-quality research, clear communication, and meaningful contributions to psychiatry and global mental health.
The competition is open to eligible poster presenters whose work demonstrates scientific rigor, originality, relevance, and the ability to engage an international congress audience.
Posters selected for recognition will reflect the strength and diversity of research presented at WCP 2026 in Stockholm, highlighting work that advances knowledge, informs clinical practice, or opens new directions for discussion across the field.
Prize
Winners of the WCP 2026 Best Poster Competition will receive waived WCP 2027 registration.
Eligibility
To be considered for the Best Poster Competition, posters must be uploaded to the congress system at least four weeks prior to WCP 2026.
Only posters submitted by 26 August 2026 will be eligible for review. Late uploads will not be included in the competition.
Judging Process
Each eligible poster will be reviewed by two judges before the congress begins.
The judging process will be based solely on the submitted abstract and poster. Live poster presentations will not be assessed as part of the competition. This ensures that all eligible submissions are evaluated consistently and fairly, regardless of presentation timing or format during the congress.
Judging Criteria
Participants are encouraged to ensure that their poster clearly communicates the purpose, methods, findings, and implications of their work. A successful poster should be scientifically sound, easy to follow, visually accessible, and able to convey its key message quickly to an international audience.
Posters will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Scientific rigor and methodological soundness – Are the methods appropriate, and are the conclusions supported by the data?
- Originality and innovation – Does the work present a novel idea, approach, or finding, or add meaningful insight to existing knowledge?
- Relevance and significance – Does the work matter clinically, scientifically, for global mental health, or in another important way?
- Clarity of message – Is the main takeaway immediately understandable?
- Visual design and readability – Is the poster well organized, readable, and visually effective?
- Overall impact and engagement – Does the poster capture attention and have the potential to stimulate interest or discussion?
Presenters who wish to be considered for the prize should make sure their poster is uploaded by the competition deadline: 26 August 2026
